Emergency Plumbing FAQ

Quick answers for the questions people ask while dispatch is on the way.

How fast can a plumber get to me at 2am?
For dispatched emergencies our average door time is about 60 minutes. The dispatcher will give you a live ETA when they pick the closest available plumber and text you their name before they leave.
How do I shut off the water before help arrives?
Find the main shutoff (where the supply line enters the house; basement, garage, crawl space, or utility closet) and turn the valve clockwise until it stops. For one fixture only, use the angle stop directly under the toilet or sink. The dispatcher will walk you through it on the call.
Is there a surcharge for nights or weekends?
No. The price you’re quoted at 2am on a Sunday is the same price the same job would cost at 11am on a Tuesday. We don’t mark up the diagnostic, the labor, or the parts for off-hours dispatch.
What counts as a real plumbing emergency?
Anything actively wasting water (burst pipe, running toilet you can’t shut off), causing damage (leak through ceiling, sewage backup), or making the house unusable (no water, no hot water, gas smell). If you’re not sure; call. Dispatch triages over the phone.
Do I have to commit to repair before the plumber arrives?
No. The plumber arrives, diagnoses, and gives you a written upfront quote. You decide whether to proceed. If you walk away, you owe only the diagnostic; and the diagnostic is waived if you proceed with the repair.
